ALLAMERICANBEAUTY (f, 3, Into Mischief–Apologize, by Lemon Drop Kid), debuting as the favorite at Aqueduct Dec. 4, finished just off-the-board in the slop that afternoon. Shipping to Shug McGaughey's southern base, the $700,000 KEESEP purchase trying turf, two-turns and Lasix for the first time, passed with flying colors. Racing mid-pack around the clubhouse turn, the 6-1 shot settled just to the outside of King's Secret (GB) (Kingman {GB}). Around the far turn, the pace quickened enough for the bay filly to position herself to shoot through a gap that opened up in the three path down the lane. Avoiding traffic trouble on the rail, she kicked for home, and had enough energy to fend off a late charge from Doral (Quality Road) to win by a neck. Bomba Nera (War Front) was fourth, but she was taken down by the stewards and placed eighth after an inquiry determined that she bumped I'm a Sure Thing (Le Havre {Ire}), which caused King's Secret to be taken up on the rail. Tar Heel Girl (Into Mischief) finished last, while Just The Sky (Justify) was seventh. The winner's dam, a full-sister to MGSW Aurelia's Belle, also has black-type on her mare's side of the family, including GISW Aldize (Storm Cat). She is responsible for a 2-year-old Tapit colt, a yearling filly by Medaglia d'Oro, and she was bred to Maclean's Music last year. Sales History: $700,000 Ylg '21 KEESEP.
